Microsoft Job Layoff : Microsoft heading for a massive job cut
Job layoffs continue. Microsoft, after seeing its profits fall by 11% in the latest quarterly reports has decided to cut around 5000 jobs over the next 1.5 years. This number constitutes around 6% of its workforce and the number may very well be revised upwards as demands keep slowing.
Microsoft is a market leader in software with windows as its most popular product. Recently Intel also decided to cut around 10% of its workforce. The moves by Microsoft and Intel may be taken as an indication of a tough future lying ahead for the technology sector. However, apple, which has managed to sell a record number of iphones and ipods has seen an excellent growth in the latest quarter.
